How to start an alt, Cataclysm-style

Create character. Base the character name off of a pop culture reference, or possibly a play on words of your chosen race/class combination (Edworgcullen, Holykow, etc)
Spend 30+ minutes reconfiguring all your addons that have defaulted back to their initial factory settings.
Log on to your main and mail yourself full heirloom gear.
Log back onto your alt and equip all the heirloom gear.
Log back onto your other alt because you forgot the rare heirloom ring you won by
